A Protest. Then A Celebration

This is the 40th installment of Rhyme and Reason, my weekly set of limericks for the Sunday Times of India edit page.

NOT IN MY NAME

When the country is torn, bit by bit,
Those who are silent are complicit.
If it fills you with shame,
Then shout: “Not in my name!”
Shake your apathy. Do not submit.

A left-hander with timing and grace.
Her strokeplay, by and by,
Makes me wonder why I
Thought women’s cricket was commonplace.
