… costs just Rs. 8,000.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not casting aspersions on the lady’s character. Check out this superb story by Mumbai Mirror, in which they demonstrate corruption at the Registrar of Marriages, Bandra. One of their reporters, Bhupen Patel, “got himself registered as husband of actress Tulip Joshi on Wednesday after paying Rs 8,000 to a tout who got the marriage certificate signed by the sub-registrar even without producing Bhupen before the issuing authority.”
Tulip was away in Mauritius while all this happened.
I’m sure birth certificates and school-leaving certificates can be obtained with similar ease, which means that you can enjoy a lifetime of marriage and raising a family with a lady of your choice without her even being aware of it. Such joy.
